An interesting mini e-learning activity for children. Your lesson was a good example of the application of the Behaviourist approach in teaching as the candies, milk and yakult did extrinsically motivate us to participate with enthusiasm, especially during the Kahoot quiz. I particularly liked that you provided the phonetic transcriptions and the Chinese translations of the English words that you were teaching. Moreover, I liked the sentence making activity as you slowly escalated the level of difficulty by asking students to make sentences using one word first, then two words and thereafter three words.
Great job!! I think King is a very good teacher because she can engage each student to interact with teacher in the class. Also, the content of a small quiz on Kahoot is funny and good. We need to pay attention to other details although they are looked like useless~By the way, the chocolate is very delicious~~~~~
Your group e-learning course is very cute and interesting, and you also use Kahoot to engage students to participate in the courses. But I think the ranking is not necessary, which may hurt students' self-esteem because not all students are active and competitive to win.
I think the ranking has both advantages and disadvantages. I will not blame the children who haven't ranked top for sure and comparing to the test ranking list, this is much better~ Thank you for your advice :)
Your course is soooo cute hhh which make me a deep impression, and King taught us with an appropriate pace and gave some rewards to learners who answered correctly. An excellent lesson!
At the beginning I was not engaged since I am not the target learner of this mini-lesson. But I really recognized that King is a very good teacher in this lesson. Students are motivated to engage in the activities. She make a good modelling in the application of the Behaviourist theory, especially during the Kahoot quiz. Although I was not engaged at the beginning of the mini-lesson, I was changed by the attitude of the teachers. Thank you.
This course is very impressive. The PPT design style is suitable for younger learners because the colorful pictures are attractive. Then the role of teacher dose a really good job. Her voice and her movement help me follow the pace rather than engaging in my own business. And my favorite part is Kahoot. I feel excited when I answer the quiz and compete with my classmates. It is a great experience.
The class is very interesting. I bet kids must love it so much, especially those candy. But I have one comment for it. What you are doing is to teach students some vocabulary after the whole story has finished. To be honest, even though I pay full attention to watch that story, when you talk about those vocabulary, I have already forgetten whether these vocabs have appeared on the video or not. So maybe it's a good idea for us to insert the vocabs teaching inside the video instead of separating them.
I loved the design of your powerpoint. It was very bright and colourful! As a young student, I would be attracted to the design. You made great use of the video, Powerpoint and Kahoot to scaffold and consolidate students’ understanding. It was great that the Kahoot tested students on the vocabulary that was introduced in the Powerpoint. It would certainly engage students and allows the teacher to check the students’ understanding. I think it would help if the vocabulary introduced was shown with pictures. The Powerpoint layout would be more like a flashcard when introducing the vocabulary, by having a picture on top and the word at the bottom. I feel this would help to better reinforce the meaning of the word.
The slide is colourful and beautiful of image that learners will easy to remember content.Main target learner is children to use. However, the class have more interaction of the event. Overall, the class will good e-learning class.
Thank our cute little teacher, goldilock and the bear families! The story is quite engaging and the little song is "poisionous". All the activities you adapted for your mini class are "just right!". But if you can add your thinking process and design plan into the blog, it will make us know your design better and learn a lot more.
